Eve Online turns 14.

Eve Online let’s us know that it is turning 14 years old. It went live on May 6, 2003. The Iceland-based Excel-with-Lasers game is known to be highly addictive (and that’s one reason why it is the prettiest game I will never be playing).

Recently, Eve restructured itself so that up to a certain level players can now pilot spacecraft for free (and the free level is supposedly sufficient to see a lot of meaningful in-game action).

You know you have a problem when you start considering posting Bachelor thesis topics around EVE…

You can even get the full EVE Online experience for free.
All you have to do is earning enough ingame money (ISK) and buying PLEX which can be activated for a month of free game time.

      That sounds suspiciously like work.

If you play EVE Online like this, you have a second job. A bad payed job actually. Mostlikely you will play 2 to 50 hours (depending on your skills and sort if ISK income). A monthly subscription is roughly 12€. So 2-3 hours of work in a minimum wage job.

Hm. ISK. reminds me – the other ISK has risen about 50% since I’ve been there. That could’ve been quite some profit…
